JAMMU, Dec 2: Two days state level 26th Children’s Science Congress (a program of NCSTC, DST, Delhi) concluded at Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani Bye Pass, here today.
The programme was organized by National Council for Urban and Rural Development Society, Jammu under the guidance of Zaffar Ullah Khan, Founder Secretary (NCURDS) and State Coordinator NCSC- J&K (Jammu).
About 80 projects based on Focal Theme “Science, Technology and innovation for a clean, green & Healthy Nation” from different institution drawn from various districts of J&K were presented by the children of age group 10-17 years focusing on solution to the local problem easily applicable by the society.
The Valedictory function was presided over by Sister Maria Awati AC, Principal of the Institution.
Earlier, Kuldeep Gupta, Master Govt. Girls High School, Simbal Camp and State Academic Coordinator, J&K (Jammu) presented welcome address.
Dr Ashaq Hussain, Principal, Govt Degree College, Chatroo, Kishtwar gave a brief account of NCSC & how this programme is helpful for uplifting the creativity of the child scientists and enable them to think and act scientifically.
The projects were evaluated by the team of learned evaluators; Dr. Rajeev Sharma from Multanimal Modi College, Patiala, S. Gurmeet Singh from Phagwara, Sanjeev Sharma, Sidharth from PathanKot and Rakesh Sharma from Kapurthala.
Out of the 80 projects presented, 16 best projects are going to be presented at National Level being organized at Bhubhneshwar (Odisha) from December 27 to December 31, 2018 and the two best projects will also participate at Indian Science Congress being held at Lovely Professional University, Jallandhar.

Junior Group: Hazis Shaz Dev, K-Photon Science Club, Kishtwar; Aadya – KC International School, Jammu; Aftab Alam- MMI, Arwani, Anantnag; Mantasha Irshad -Radiant Public School, Anantnag; Agrima Chandan-DAV Collegiate School, Kathua and Suhani Sharma-Carmel Convent School, Jammu.
Prominent among others who graced the occasion included Shabir Ahmed Shabir, State Coordinator NCSC J&K (Kashmir), M Y Zagoo, State Academic Coordinator NCSC (Kashmir), Harpreet Singh and Mehmood Ahmed.
