Children’s theatre, dance workshop organized by JKAACL concludes

SRINAGAR, Oct 3: The 15 day long children’s theatre and dance workshop organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and languages (JKAACL) was concluded here today.
The workshop was organized in collaboration with Samooh Theatre, wherein the children demonstrated their acting skills and dance performances that mesmerized the audience.
The workshop was done under national repute Theatre Actor, Director and playwright, Dr. Sudhir Mahajan.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Gupta, Principal Secretary, Department of Culture appreciated the children performances and also congratulated Dr. Sudhir Mahajan and his dedicated team for organizing the workshop.
This was the first of its kinds workshop at Srinagar wherein the children got an opportunity to develop their overall personality by learning and practicing various skills such as voice and speech, Theatre games, Role play, improvisations on the various issues of the contemporary society, yoga, music and dance etc. through various theatre devices as a tool .
Anita Chandpuri prominent social and cultural activist coordinator, while Kamal Chandpuri was the assistant director of the workshop.
Deepkia Dhar was Incharge of the dance while Ashish Dhar was the assistant in yoga .
The aim of the workshop was to provide a single platform to the children of the KP community for developing social skills and cultural understanding so that they can learn to explore and express emotions effectively.
Among others who graced the occasion included Padmashree SP Verma, Sanjeev Rana, Additional Secretary JKAACL, Manoj Pandita SSP, Bhavani Basheer, Gulzar Ganai, Mushtaq Ali, Ameen Bhat Mejbeen, Kala Anand, Bhandna Daftri, Sanjogita Mishra, Nana Dembi besides the parents of participating children.
