Chilli futures climb 1.25 pc on strong demand, tight supply

NEW DELHI, Dec 11:  In restricted activity, chilli prices climbed 1.25 per cent to Rs 6,960 per quintal in futures market today supported by strong demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chilli for delivery in December climbed by Rs 86, or 1.25 per cent, to Rs 6,960 per quintal with an open interest of 1,680 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions, driven by strong demand in the spot market against tight supplies from producing belts that mainly attributed rise in chilli prices at futures trade. (PTI)
