Chilli, jeera weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, June 13:  Red chilli and jeera prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today due to low demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks position.
Red chilli prices declined by Rs 100 to finish at Rs 7,700-15,400 per quintal.
Jeera common and jeera best quality also drifted by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 16,400-17,000 and Rs 20,400-20,900 per quintal.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists at higher levels against sufficient stocks, mainly pulled down chilli and jeera prices.
Following are today’s quotations (in Rs):
Ajwain (per kg) 155-190, black pepper (per kg) 580-730, betel-nut (kg) 300-350, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,800-1,825 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 2,050-2,100.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 780-840, cardamom (colour robin) 780-800, cardamom bold 790-810, cardamom extra (bold) 920-970 and cloves 750-850. (PTI)
