Chilli, turmeric weaken on subdued demand

NEW DELHI, Jan 14: Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today owing to subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid adequate stocks.
Red chilli and turmeric prices fell by Rs 100 each to conclude at Rs 7,900-14,400 and Rs 6,800-12,300 per quintal, respectively.
Marketmen said subdued demand from retailers and stockists amid sufficient stocks position mainly put pressure on chilli and turmeric prices on the wholesale kirana market here.
The following are today’s quotations per quintal:
Ajwain 13,500-18,500, black pepper (per kg) 540-670, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,000-1,110 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,150-1,300.
Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 670-770, cardamom (colour robin) 620-720, cardamom bold 670-720, cardamom extra (bold) 820-920 and cloves (kg) 850-900. (AGENCIES)
