LEH, Aug 26: “China has been constructing big dams inside China with an intention to use it as a weapon to destroy the main infrastructure like road, bridges along the Indus to stop the main supply incase of war”.
This was stated by the Central Tibetan Administration Sikyong (Prime Minister), Dr Lobsang Sangay during a talk on “Environment of Tibet and its Impact on Asia”, held at Ladakh International Centre (LIC) Leh.

He also accused China of carrying out huge deforestation activities which also control the monsoon in India.
“Urbanization in China especially on Tibetan Plateau is another factors effecting the monsoon is India causing floods in India therefore it is important for the Asian countries to restore stewardship of Tibetan people and Tibet which may a be nodal problem for China but solution to Asian countries considering the various environmental factors,” stressed Dr.Lobzang. He also informs that the China didn’t sign the UN convention of Water Sharing in 1997 and India and China has agreement to share data on flood and river flow but not a single Indian expert is allowed to visit China to study which clearly shows the intention of China.
