JAMMU, Dec 8: Chinar Primary School, the junior wing of Sainik School Nagrota celebrated its Annual Day at the School Auditorium, here. Colonel Kapil Dev Kaushal, Principal, Sainik School Nagrota and Chairman, Chinar Primary School presided over the function as chief guest and inaugurated the cultural programme by lighting the traditional lamp.
The chief guest also released the latest edition of the school magazine ‘Rainbow’.
The welcome address was presented by  Poornima Srivastava, which was followed by welcome song.  Neena Kaushal, Headmistress of the school presented the School Annual report highlighting the infrastructural up-gradation and scholastic and co-scholastic activities introduced in the school with an aim to develop children holistically.
The colourful cultural programme presented by the young children of the school was based on the theme “Glimpses of India” which aptly included items such as Albela Bharat, Dogri Dance, Goan and Koli Dance, and Bhangra Mashup. The mesmerizing performance of Tiny Tots received thunderous applause from one and all.
This year prizes were awarded to students of all classes from LKG to Vth based on aspects like punctuality, neatness, discipline, regularity and participation in various competitions. The Cock-house trophy for the session 2016 was presented to Gandhi House.
Vote of thanks was presented by Sunita Dembi, which was followed by National Anthem.
