Chinese grenades, Pak pistol recovered from hideout in Reasi

JAMMU, Mar 10: Army today recovered a haul of arms and ammunition including Chinese hand grenade and Pakistan originated pistol from a hideout busted in a remote area of mountainous Reasi district.

“Based on a tip-off, the troops of 61 Rashtriya Rifles and police this evening launched a search operation in Rusowali Nullah in Sardhar, tehsil Mahore of Reasi district,” Lt Col R K Palta, Jammu based PRO-Ministry of Defence here told reporters.

The PRO said during searches, one Ak-47, one Pak originated pistol, two Ak magazines, 64 rounds of Ak ammunition, one pistol magazine with 61 rounds of ammunition, one anti-personnel mine of unknown origin, three UBGL grenades, two Chinese grenades, 93 rounds of Pika ammunition, one mobile instrument without SIM card and other miscellaneous stores were recovered from the hideout.

“The area was cordoned and the searches were in progress,” he added. (AGENCIES)
