JAMMU, Dec 31: Preserving mother tongue and keeping Kashmiri culture, custom and tradition alive, renowned actor, poet and anchor, Kanwal Peshin’s ‘Athrot’ organized comedy show and cultural programme ‘Assav te Lassav’ at Sanskriti Bhawan, Roop Nagar, here today.
The programme was presided over by music maestro, TK Jalali, while Chairman APMCC, Vinod Pandit was the chief guest on the occasion. Melody queen Kailash Mehra was the celebrity guest, while famous singer Ravi Bhan, Kuldeep Sapru and Prem Nath Shad were the guests of honour.
Six ‘Koshur Kalakaars’ who performed on the occasion have been selected for prestigious ‘Gaash Taruk’ finals to be held in Delhi on January 7, 2018. These ‘Kalakaar’s’ included Kartik Kak and Krishna Bhat (Senior Category); Himanshu Pandita, Anjali Pandita, Chhavi Koul and Daksh Bhat (Junior Category).
Pooja Pandita and Sharad Pandita were honoured with the awards of best female and best male singers respectively, while Bhoomi Kher was presented audience choice award.
The star of the show was famous actor/comedian Anil Koul Chingari, who mesmerized all with his charismatic style while presenting jokes, pranks and poetry and mimicry. He simply stole the show and won accolades from all.
Rippy, working as a Data Analyst in United States of America (USA) won hearts of all by performing comedy and presenting jokes in her typical style.
She said, it is the love for my mother tongue and sense of belongingness that lured me to come all the way from USA to be part of this event.
