JAMMU: The passenger ropeway service from Bhawan to Bhairon Ghati and Katra-Sanjhi Chat chopper service, which was suspended on Tuesday in view of snowfall at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine, was restored on Wednesday.
“The chopper, passenger ropeway and other services have been restored this morning,” Simrandeep Singh, CEO, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board here said.
Due to fresh snowfall at the cave shrine on Tuesday morning from Adh Kuwari to Bhawan, the cable car (passenger ropeway), chopper, battery car and material ropeway services remained suspended for the day.
The Vaishno Devi Yatra in 2018 broke all five year record as 86 lakhs pilgrims visited the cave shrine and paid obeisance.
Meanwhile life returned to normal on Wednesday across Jammu as it was bright sunny day after three-day long spell of rain and snowing on upper reaches in hilly districts.
The day and night temperature also dipped in the plains of Jammu. (AGENCIES)
