JAMMU, June 27: Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior BJP and KP leader and incharge of Department of Political Affairs and Facebook JK BJP today released the counter-report to the US Agency Report on India here along with BJP senior leader and treasurer, Prabhat Singh Jamwal.
Talking to reporters Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo said the counter report has already been submitted to the PMO this week with a request to take up IT with the MEA and MHA for an appropriate action.
In his counter report Chrungoo termed the US report totally baseless and accused that country of interfering in internal affairs of India which will not be tolerated at any cost by its 130 crore people.
The counter report said it has been observed that the IAMC-Indian American Muslim Council has influenced the US Commission, USCIRF, to produce their so-called report on India.
What has made the report controversial is the fact that it is alleged to have been produced under the influence and pressure of the IMAC-Indian Muslim American Council, Chrungoo said.
He said the report seems clearly a part of the Global Toolkit launched by the USCIRF in collusion with IMAC to dislodge the Mahant Yogi Adityanath Government in Uttar Pradesh. It is a classic example of anti-India and anti-Government of India tirade. The question arises that in what capacity USCIRF and Indian American Muslim Council have the right to interfere in the internal affairs of India..! Has Indian Parliament or any other Commission or a Constitutional body ever debated racism against Black Americans and Asian Americans practised in the US? It’s clearly a violation of Indian sovereignty and is also tantamount to inciting violence in the State of Uttar Pradesh just before the elections in 2022.
The US report has blamed BJP Government of violating religious freedom allowed violence against minorities which Chrungoo termed was totally baseless and quite contrary to the ground realities not only in UP but all over India.
Chrungoo also countered the US report on Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and said that every country is governed by its own national interests. India, for that matter all countries, has a right to determine its national register of citizens.
On abrogation of Article 370 in J&K Chrungoo said India does not need any lesson from any country in this regard.
