JAMMU, Aug 9: Various political parties, across J&K have condemned the killing of BJP leader and Sarpanch Kulgam and his wife by terrorists today at Anantnag and termed it a cowardly act.
BJP national general secretary and incharge J&K and Ladakh UTs, Tarun Chug has also condemned the killing of Sarpanch and his wife and termed it as a ghastly and cowardly act of terrorism.
In a statement issued today, Chug said Pakistan ISI -backed terrorists are feeling desperate and have been targeting the BJP leaders to kill the process of democracy in J&K. He said the terrorists will never succeed in derailing the process started by PM Modi to take J&K to heights by their savagery acts.
BJP J&K UT president, Ravinder Raina, while strongly condemning the killing of Sarpanch and his wife, by terrorists in Anantnag held Pakistan responsible for this dastardly act. He said Pakistan and his handpicked terrorists will not succeed in their vicious designs in derailing the PM Narendra Modi’s efforts of restoration peace in Kashmir and taking the UT of J&K to the path of development. The terrorists will be chased by security forces to finish soon, he added.

Raina termed Ghulam Rasool a bold and dedicated party leader saying that the sacrifice of the couple will not go waste.
National president Kissan Morcha and MP, Raj Kumar Chahar and J&K BJP Kissan Morcha president, Omi Khajuria have also strongly condemned the killing of party’s Kulgam district president and Sarpanch and his wife by terrorists. They said that BJP activists will not be cowed down by such dastardly acts as they have resolved to serve the people of the J&K UT to uproot the terrorism completely from the soil of Kashmir.
The BJP’s J-K spokesman Altaf Thakur also condemned the killing, terming it “barbaric and cowardly”.
Peoples Conference (PC) chairman, Sajad Lone also strongly condemned the killing.
“Yet again a Kashmiri family is a victim of violence. Yet again, more addition to the community of orphans and hapless victims of gun. May the killers rot in hell,” he said.
NC provincial president and former MLA, Nagrota, Devender Singh Rana said the dastardly killing of BJP Sarpanch and his wife, Panch Begum Jawhira is highly condemnable and shocking.
In a statement issued today he said terrorism has no place in a civilised society and those responsible should be brought to book and doled out exemplary punishment. He prayed for the peace of departed souls.
All J&K Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) president, Anil Sharma while expressing his shock and grief over the killing of Sarpanch and his wife in Anantnag today said the dastardly act has shocked his organisation. He said how long the grass root level public representatives will fall prey to the bullets of terrorists. The Government should act fast now and ensure security of Sarpanchs, Panches ,other public representatives and their families.
Apni party, general secretary, Rafi Ahmed Mir has also strongly condemned the killing of Sarpanch and his wife in Anantnag.
In a statement issued here, today, Mir termed the incident as highly deplorable and demanded that the perpetrators of this heinous act should be brought to justice. Such mindless attacks will achieve nothing except the more miseries for common man, Mir added.
Sarpanch Chowgam and BJP district spokesperson, Kulgam, Vijay Raina has also strongly condemned the dastardly act and demanded immediate arrest of the killers of BJP Sarpapnch and party’s Kissan Morcha president and his wife in Anantnag today. He said all peace loving people have been shocked by the savagery act.
Chairman People’s Democratic Front (PDF) , Hakeem Yasin has also expressed sorrow over the killing of Sarpanch and his wife from Kulgam.
While expressing his sorrow over the killing Hakeem Yasin said that the killing of unarmed person was against the tenants of humanity.
Jammu Muslim Front has also strongly condemned the killing of Sarpanch and his wife by militants today. The JMF termed the dastardly act as shocking and heart wrenching saying the radical forces have added to the woes of people by such savagery acts.
Shiv Sena, Bala Sahib Thackeray J&K Unit has also strongly condemned the killing of Sarpanch and his wife by terrorists in Anantnag Kashmir. In a press statement issued here, today president of SS Manish Sahni said current situation in Kashmir is worrisome where the leaders of political parties are being targeted.
The BJP activists and leaders today held protest against the killing of Dar and his wife at Kulgam. They raised slogans against his killing and demanded that the security be provided to the BJP local leaders.
The BJP district president for Kulgam, Abid Khan, demanded stern action against the killers. He urged the Lt Governor, Manoj Sinha to get these killings investigated. “As the BJP is becoming popular day by day, it is not being tolerated by some elements who are responsible for these killings”, he said adding they should be taken to task.
