Chugh says Abdullah-Mufti duo with Cong played havoc with J&K

JAMMU: The BJP on Tuesday came down heavily on the Abdullah-Mufti family duo for holding J&K hostage for more than five decades and ransacking it recklessly at the cost of the common man.
Addressing an election rally at Kathua, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh said the two private companies, Abdullah and sons and Mufti and sons, have played havoc with Jammu and Kashmir, both administratively and economically.
Addressing the rally for the BJP candidate Sushma Devi, Mr Chugh said the two families would have to explain all the conspiracies that they played to deprive women of their rights on the pretext of Article 370. “Women were deliberately kept in the backyards to reap political benefits”, he said.
Mr Chugh elaborated on the corrupt practices Abdullah-Mufti duo took to deprive the people of development funds and build their properties.
He said the recent Rs 25000-crore scam unearthed by the government was just a tip of an iceberg. “There are hundreds of such scams that have taken place in the last 50 years by the Abdullah-Mufti families to build their properties”, he said.
Lambasting the Congress for its dual role in the state Mr Chugh asked the Congress to explain its support to the Gupkar alliance which has its separate flag and has been flagrantly indulging in anti-democratic and anti-national actions.
He said the Congress had been always surreptitiously supporting the Chinese designs in the region and has been working hand-in-glove with anti-national forces.
The BJP leader recalled how Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had held an in camera meeting with the Chinese ambassador in 2017 during the Doklam stand-off between India and China.
Rahul had then misled the nation by keeping his meeting secret till the Chinese Ambassador made it public. Similarly, in 2019 Rahul Gandhi, during his visit to Kailash Mansarovar had met two Chinese ministers secretly without taking the External Affairs ministry into confidence.
Mr Chug said the Congress in J&K had been following dubious policies which were detrimental to national security and had been encouraging anti-national forces.
