JAMMU, Mar 31: While campaigning in RS Pura Camp colonies, Chairman of SOS International, Rajiv Chuni, who is contesting Lok Sabha elections as an independent candidate from Jammu-Poonch Parliamentary seat, today exhorted the PoK Displaced Persons to teach a lesson to BJP as well as Congress by rejecting candidates of both the parties.
Terming BJP and Congress ‘Saanpnath’ and  ‘Naagnath’ respectively, Chuni said both the parties have only harmed the people despite their vote and support.
He was addressing a series of public meetings at Badyal Brahmana, Central Badyal Brahmana, Saba Basti, Prem Nagar and other areas in R S Pura, where PoK Displaced families are inhabited in majority.
Mr Chuni was accorded a warm reception by the Displaced Persons in these areas and they announced all possible help to him besides votes for unity of the community, which, they said, has been suffering since decades because of callous and insensitive approach of the successive Governments.
The families of the PoK DPs reiterated their faith in the leadership of Mr Chuni, who, they said, was the only candidate with credentials of having worked for the welfare of the Displaced Community whereas those from big parties like BJP and Congress, were only making false promises and assurances.
Mr Chuni while appealing for votes said that he was not contesting the elections for his personal victory but to rope in each PoK DP in the united struggle for their long pending genuine right of permanent rehabilitation package once for all.
He was accompanied by a number of prominent persons from the PoK Displaced Community and members of SOS International.
