JAMMU, Feb 10: The State Chief Information Commissioner, J&K has apprised the Commissioner Secretary General Administration Department about the deficiencies in official websites of various Government Departments regarding disclosure under Section 4 (1) (b) of the Right to Information Act and appointment of PIO/FAA.
The statement showing status of websites of different departments, establishes non-compliance repeated instructions, deficiencies in uploading information and other details like on the official sites.
The websites of Agriculture Production Department, Secretariat and Prison Department, have uploaded only salary statement of their employees while on the websites of Department of Animal Husbandry Kashmir and Directorate of Sheep Husbandry Jammu, icon of Section 4 of RTI has been not been linked with the web page.
The domain name of the official website of Government Medical College Jammu had expired on August 30, 2014 while website of MD Handicrafts (Sale and Export) Corp, is under construction.
A number of Departments have not mentioned the particulars of PIO and Ist AA while RTI icon is missing on several official websites.
Taking cognizance of the deficiencies, the Commissioner Secretary GAD has once again impressed upon all the concerned, including Administrative Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners, Heads of Departments and Deputy Commissioners to ensure that all the departments disclose information in terms of Section 4 (1) (b) of the RTI Act 2009 and their official websites are made functional immediately and updated on daily basis.
