CII delegation calls on DIG Traffic Jammu

JAMMU, Apr 5: A delegation led by Anil Mahajan, Chairman CII J&K State Council and Managing Partner K C Paints called on Shafqat Ali Watali  DIG – Traffic Police – Jammu  to discuss about the traffic situation in Jammu city.
Mahajan explained how the growing demands of Jammu will have to be acknowledged and proactive steps need to be taken.
He discussed the issues of overloading in busses, reserved seats for women, senior citizens and handicaps in the busses and mini busses, check on use of high beam during night, and lane driving.
Mr Mahajan suggested to install CCTVs on all the major intersections, explore the possibility of one way traffic at some of the important roads, well- lit and user friendly designed bus stops with emergency helpline numbers on  display at appropriate places for the people who use public transport. He also suggested creating awareness among the masses about the traffic rules and safety procedures while driving.
Mr Watali assured that proper steps would be taken in this regard and he will organize various awareness sessions in association with CII.
