CII delegation takes up industrial issues with DC

SAMBA, Oct 23: A delegation of  CII J&K State Council met the Deputy Commissioner Samba, Sheetal Nanda, and took up the burning issues related to Samba industrial area.
During the meeting with the Deputy Commissioner Samba here today, the CII delegation submitted its representation on the issues and areas of concern to the DDC which  include problem in Industrial Area Phase -I due to erosion of banks of the river Basantar, frequent power failure due to bad condition of 11 KVA power supply lines in Industrial Area,  worst condition of link road between Industrial Area Phase I & Phase II and  main entry road for Industrial Area Phase II;  poor BSNL services and non-completion of nullah flowing down from Samba city towards Industrial area causing water contamination and pollution.
Mrs Nanda told the CII delegation that all the issues were very relevant and genuine. She took serious note of the issues and directed concerned departments to resolve the issues for the benefit of the industry and society. The earlier action of the DC has also started  showing some results and the entry road to Industrial Area Phase-II was got repaired swiftly.  Electricity department also came into action and commenced repair and maintenance by installing new 11 KVA power supply line.
On link road between Industrial Area Phase I & II, the DC informed that the proposal has been submitted to the concerned authorities for further discussions and approval and that will be implemented in the due course. DC also personally visited and inspected the incomplete nullah that carry Samba city sewerage waste causing problem and assured the CII delegation that the appropriate authorities will be approached for necessary approvals for completion of the nullah work to stop contamination and pollution.
On the issue of development of Industrial Area Phase- III in Samba, the CII delegation urged that allotments of industrial plots should be done as early as possible and 20% of the plots should be allotted to the local unemployed youth willing to start their own ventures. The delegation further added that the industry established in phase III industrial area should be environment friendly.
