CII, JKEDI organize awareness session on entrepreneurship development

UDHAMPUR, Apr 11: With an objective to create the awareness and to encourage the students of ITI Udhampur for start ups, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and JKEDI organized an interactive session today at ITI Udhampur.
Pawan Kumar Gupta, MLA from Udhampur, encouraged the youth for startups. He further said that the students should learn the industry based skills for employability. He also recalled the various initiatives taken by Government of India and stressed upon the need to implement the schemes in full strength. He appreciated the efforts of CII J&K and expressed the need for continued efforts to organize more such awareness session in future to sensitize youth about the various schemes of Central / State Government including JKEDI.
Shabnum Shah Kamili, Director, Technical Education, J&K, appraised the gathering about the various initiatives taken by Directorate of Technical Education J&K for the benefit of the students. She felt the need for Public Private Partnerships in ITIs to make them model ITIs and also produce employable youth.
Earlier, Rahul Sahai, Vice Chairman, CII J&K State Council, said that the whole idea of entrepreneurship is to encourage youth for starting their own ventures which will further generate employment opportunities to others. He further added that the youth should become job creators rather than job seekers. He also touched upon major challenges for startups that include startup capital, family and social challenges.
Vishal Ray, faculty from JKEDI, deliberated on various entrepreneurship schemes available for the youth for startups. He discussed about the role and importance of entrepreneurship in present time. He appraised the participants regarding JKEDI’s two schemes i.e. Seed Capital Fund Scheme and Youth Start Up Loan Scheme.
Arun P Gupta, Convener, CII Udhampur Core Group & Chairman, IMC, ITI Udhampur summed up the session and presented the formal vote of thanks.
The Session was attended by over 60 participants.
