CISA says lobbying Govt to cut taxes for Chinese iron ore miners

DALIAN, CHINA, Sept 27: The China Iron & Steel Association (CISA) is lobbying the government to reduce taxes for domestic iron ore miners to help them ride through tough times, a senior official from the association said on Thursday.

Zhang Changfu, vice-chairman of the association, said that the low prices had already affected the construction of new iron ore projects within China, noting that average costs were around $80 per tonne.

Zhang was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an industry conference in Dalian. (AGENCIES)
