CISF nabs two with 14 gold bars at Jorhat Airport

NEW DELHI,  Jan 20: The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) apprehended two passengers carrying 14 gold bars, concealed in their bodies, at Jorhat Airport in Assam on Friday.
At around, 1330 hrs, during pre-embarkation security check  at Security Hold Area (SHA) of Jorhat Airport, CISF personnel noticed presence of metal in body (rectum area) of two passengers.
“Identified as Surender Singh and  Pawan Chouhan, both were bound  to travel to Delhi by flight No 9W-904. They were taken for thorough checking at separate place.
During interrogation, they revealed of carrying gold bars wrapped in balloon inside their rectum”, CISF said in its official release here on Saturday.
“Total 2365 gms were recovered from them which is worth around Rs 70 lakhs “, added the release.
Both of them along with recovered gold bars were handed over to Custom Officials, Jorhat Airport for further legal action. (UNI)
