KISHTWAR, Nov 29: Senior Citizens Council for Peace and Civil Rights, Kishtwar, felicitated prominent citizens, social activists, students, sports persons, writers/ poets, educationists and others for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields.
In an impressive function held at Dak Bungalow here today, the Council honoured the distinguished persons in presence of DC Kishtwar, G N Balwan and SSP, Sandeep Wazir, who were chief guest and guest of honour, respectively on the occasion.
Those who were honoured/ awarded at the function included, writer Bashir Ahmed Khateeb & Kewal Krishan Sharma, Distt Sports officer Kishtwar Th Dewan Chand, Sayed Zaheer Abass Hashmi Principal GDC Bhaderwah, DSWO Phulail Singh, Social workers Master Yog Raj from Peryote and Asgar Hussain Sheikh ( Red Cross); Manzoor Ahmed Bhat and Faizan Ali Tramboo from Youth Cricket Club Doda, students for securing positions during 2015-16: Arjumand Jehan Bichoo (10th class Ist position), Ragini Dutt Pochhal (10th Position in 12th), Rafia Tabassum (BSc), Mudassir Ahmed (BA-III), Shabir Ahmed ( topper in 8th class in Distt 2016) and Aliya Amin (Ist position 8th 2015).
MA Zargar, Jamat Ali Agah and Dr Ashiq Hussain of Bhalessa have been honoured for their outstanding performances in the fields of environmental education, sports and cultural activities.
