City Advisory Board of CHILDLINE holds meet

JAMMU, Oct 19:  A meeting of City Advisory Board of CHILDLINE was held today under the supervision of Anuradha Gupta (ADC, Jammu) at the Department of Law, Jammu University.
Items on agenda of the meeting were taken-up for discussions. The representatives from all the Government departments and NGOs, working in the area of Child rights, assured the Chairperson and members of the Board that necessary action will be taken with regard to the items falling within the province of their respective departments. The representatives from Labour Department, Health, Education, Media, Railway Departments and Superintendent Bal Ashram Ved Mandir participated in the meeting.
The major issues taken up during the meeting,  included construction of Children Home/Observation Home/Child Welfare committee/Juvenile Justice Board under J&K Juvenile Justice (Care & Protection Act, 2013), Installation of complaint box for the children in Government  and  Private Schools.
It was also resolved during the meeting to chalk out the joint programme in collaboration with Labour Department for rescuing and providing relief and rehabilitation of children upto 14 years working different industrial establishments.
