JAMMU, Sept 21: A one-day awareness-cum-demonstration programme was organized today at Jamwal Groups of Education (IECS Polytechnic College) Purkhoo Jammu by Civil Defence, Jammu.
The programme was organized under the supervision of Shashi Thakur (Deputy SP), Deputy Controller Civil Defence, Jammu. In the awareness camp, more than 300 students and teaching/non-teaching staff of the institution were made aware about the knowledge of first aid, CPR, chocking and emergency methods of rescue by the Civil Defence instructors.
While speaking on the occasion, Shashi Thakur, Paramjit Kumar (Chief Warden) and R Vijay Magotra (Deputy Divisional Warden, Civil Defence, Jammu) highlighted the role of Civil Defence Wardens/Volunteers and importance of Civil Defence Organization during disaster to help the people as a first responder. Besides, the Deputy Controller Civil Defence Jammu also delivered a lecture on the moral values to the students.
Amit Sharma, Principal and Ajay Jamwal, Dean Administration of the Institution, were also present on the occasion.
