Civil Defence Program concludes at North Polytechnic

JAMMU, Oct 20: Organized by Department of Civil Defence, five-day long Civil Defence Program concluded today at North Polytechnic, Purkhoo Camp, Jammu.
The camp was held under the supervision of Tejinder Kour, Deputy SP, Deputy Controller, Civil Defence. The main objective of the training programme was to make aware the students of the institute with regard to preventive measures for unexpected devastating fire, rescue, first aid, etc.
During the 5-day programme, the experts delivered lectures on disaster management, earthquake, fire, lightning, first aid and rescue to around more than 100 students who took part actively in the training programme.
A seminar on ‘World Peace’ by Prem Rawat, Missionary speaker, Raj Vidya Kendra, New Delhi was also organized along with the workshop on “Auto Cad” by animation live for final year students of Mechanical & Electrical Engineering Depar-tment. Ajay Singh Jamwal, Dean, Administration asserted that such kind of programmes are need of hour in an endeavour to prepare students equipped not only with technical knowledge but with a acumen to handle varied and complex situations in life ahead.
Prof KR Sharma, principal, North Polytechnic appreciated the efforts of Civil Defence Department, faculty members and students of the institution for smooth conduct of the programmes.
