Civil Enggs’ deputation calls on Comm/ Secy PHE, I&FC

JAMMU, Apr 30: A deputation of All Jammu and Kashmir Graduate Engineers Association (Civil) met the Commissioner/ Secretary PHE, I&FC Sanjeev Verma and highlighted the burning issues of the engineers of the department.
Led by State president Mujib Tak and general secretary Gandeep Pargal, the members of the delegation raised the issues concerning civil engineers of the department. They demanded that a decision should be taken at the earliest on release of running grades, regularization/ confirmation of the services of engineers at all levels, filling up of vacant posts at different levels from AE to Chief Engineer by way of promotions, release of pay band -4 in favour of SE cadre as per directions of the Supreme Court, revision of engineering cadre on the pattern of R&B Department and empowerment of Development Commissioner Works.
The Commissioner was apprised that the running grades already approved are yet to be released. Regarding regularization of the services of engineers at all levels, it was briefed that after rendering more than 28 years of service, engineer are still awaiting their first confirmation.
The Commissioner gave patient hearing and assured to take up their issues on priority basis.
