JAMMU, Dec 17: A delegation of Civil Secretariat Lower Grade Employees Union (J&K), led by its president lsher Das called on Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah today and submitted detailed memorandum of demands.
During meeting the employees leaders projected several pending demands of the lower grade employees. They demanded up-gradation of pay scale in respect of 16 posts of senior office attendant, 39 posts of Daftari having meagre financial implications.
They further demanded two- room accommodation in favour of Lower Grade employees; proper heating arrangements at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar/Jammu; waiving of interest posed on arrears by the PDD over allottees; release of children education allowance/ house rent allowance including 3% pending DA.
They also sought timely release of G.P Fund/arrears/retirement benefits piling up in the treasuries, repair/renovation of existing quarters, as this has been restricted to blue eyed only, special delegation of powers for execution of work by the Estates Construction Division, installation of street lights in the Govt colonies, opening of bank from private sector in the Secretariat premises to extended better services to the employees and provision of concessions by the J&K Bank in favour of the employees at par with Bank employees, being major share holders in the affairs of J&K, Bank.
Chief Minister assured that all these demands will be expedited in a time bound manner and directions shall be passed to the concerned departments shortly.
