JAMMU : A civilian got injured in cross border firing as Pakistan fired heavily including mortar shells along international border in R S Pura Sector here. ‘Pakistani Rangers last night fired heavily and targeted 8 BoPs in R S Pura Sector,’ official sources here today said. They said Pakistani Rangers also fired 81 mm mortars in the bordering villages.
‘Pakistani Rangers resorted to small arms firing and mortar shelling from 2200 hours last night,’ a BSF official said.
He added that they targeted eight border outposts (BoPs) including some civilian areas adding that one Khadim Hussain of Jora Farm village suffered minor splinter injuries. ‘BSF troops guarding the border line retaliated effectively and the exchange of firing continued till 0100 hrs,’ he added.
In January this year, Pakistan resorted to several ceasefire violations resulting in death of four people and injuries to seven people.
