CJM asks SSP: Why no progress in Mulayam case?

LUCKNOW:  A local court in Uttar Pradesh’s state capital has shown its displeasure on the tardy progress in the investigation into the case related to threat given to a senior IPS officer by then Samajwadi  Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav.

In the case registered by IPS officer Amitabh Thakur, CJM Lucknow Sandhya Srivastava today asked SSP Lucknow to explain why there is no progress in the investigation.

The CJM today asked the investigating officer CO Hazratganj to present the progress report with SSP Lucknow’s explanation on the next date of hearing on August 10.

Previously the IO had requested Mulayam Singh and Amitabh to give their consent to provide their voice sample, to which Amitabh gave his assent but Mulayam Singh refused to receive the notice after which it was sent by registered post.

In this case, the CJM, through her order dated  August 20, 2016, had quashed the final report presented by police, directing investigation by CO Hazratganj and to get the CD examined in the State Forensic Science Laboratory. (AGENCIES)
