SRINAGAR, Mar 17: A local court today directed Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar to find out whether the allegations made in the complaint against former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and then SSP Srinagar, Ashiq Bukhari, for being responsible for the killings in protests in 2010 are true or false.
In the complaint filed through Advocate M S Reshi, CJM Srinagar VS Bhou directed the SSP Srinagar to probe in detail and find out whether the allegations contained in the complaint are true or false and submit the report before next date of hearing on April 6.
The complainant alleges that the killings took place in the year 2008, 2009 and especially in 2010 and thereafter during the regime of former Chief Minister of the State as such it becomes necessary to have investigation in the matter conducted, so that the truth comes to the fore.
“Allegations made in the complaint are serious in nature and requires to be proved in order to arrive at conclusion about the truthfulness or otherwise of the same”, reads the order with postponement of compliant under Section 202 of CRPC and said “I therefore postpone the issue of the process for compelling the attendance of the persons complained against and direct an inquiry for the purpose ascertaining the truth or falsehood of the compliant”.
