POONCH, Nov 20: In the contempt proceedings, Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Poonch Riaz-ul-Mirza has directed the nine Advocates to appear in person on December 7, 2012.
The contempt proceedings were initiated against nine lawyers — Sujad Ahmed, Bahar Ahmed, Mohd Yasar, Suraj Singh Parihar, Asif Runyal, A R Mushtaq Malik, T H Malik, I H Malik and Balbir Singh Bali after they leveled serious and scandalous allegations against the then Chief Judicial Magistrate (Sub-Judge) Poonch, R K Abrol in a resolution.
Later, the advocates approached the High Court seeking directions for transfer of case to Jammu from CJM Court Poonch.
However, Justice Mohammad Yaqoob Mir disposed of the petition of the advocates on the ground that the Chief Judicial Magistrate, who had initiated contempt proceedings, has been transferred and petitioners shall have no grievance so as to seek transfer of the case.
Now, the present Chief Judicial Magistrate has directed all the nine Advocates to appear in person on December 7, 2012.
