SRINAGAR, Nov 26: National Conference (NC) Vice President Omar Abdullah today asked Centre to put in ‘correct context’ the recent visit of former Norwegian Prime Minister to both parts of divided Jammu and Kashmir.
What are the Norwegians up to in Kashmir? Would either @SushmaSwaraj ji or Doval ji care to put the visit of the former Norwegian PM to both sides of the divided State in the correct context or do we have to rely on rumours & conjecture?? the former chief minister wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
Meanwhile, reacting to a national news channel alleging that Abdullah was upset over former Prime Minister of Norway Kjell Magne Bondevik’s meeting with separatists on Friday in Srinagar, Abdullah said all he is asking is for some clarity as to what is happening.
Asking the news channel not to use his shoulder to fire the gun of their agenda, the NC VP said for the record he is not upset in the least and welcome any initiative to break the ice. “Please show me where in my tweet I’ve said or even hinted I’m upset? All I’m asking is for some clarity as to what is happening. Please don’t use my shoulder to fire the gun of your agenda. For the record I’m NOT upset in the least & welcome any initiative to break the ice,” he tweeted. Bondevik on Friday met chairmen of both the factions of Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq in the summer capital, Srinagar.
Later, the former Prime Minister of Norway reportedly met top leaders in New Delhi. Bodovik also visited Muzaffarabad, the capital of Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, and discussed the ‘latest situation’ in Jammu and Kashmir with the PoK president Sardar Masood Khan.
