JAMMU, Aug 18: A class 10th student allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Chenab from Hasti Bridge in district Kishtwar.
As per police sources, a class 10th student namely Savita Devi (16), daughter of Jia Lal, a resident of Kountwara, district Kishtwar allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Chenab from Hasti Bridge in district Kishtwar.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and divers were pressed into service to fish out the body. The body was not fished out, when reports last came in.
The girl took this extreme step after having an altercation over some issue with her mother.
Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation started.
