JAMMU, July 23: A student of class 11th today allegedly committed suicide by hanging and then shooting himself in city outskirts.
“Jahanzeb Chouhan (17), son of Dr M A Chouhan, resident of Palli Hill Estate, Bathindi this afternoon committed suicide at his residence,” a police spokesman said. He said that the boy first hanged himself and then shot from a licensed weapon of his father to ensure his death.
“Though a suicide note was recovered from the spot but the deceased has not mentioned clearly the reason of his taking this extreme step in the note”, the spokesman said, adding, a case has been registered in this connection at police station Trikuta Nagar and investigations started.
He said that the body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu and after conducting post mortem tomorrow it will be handed over to its legal heirs for last rites.
