JAMMU, Feb 21: A class 8th student was allegedly gang-raped by four persons in Nomian area of holy town Katra.
As per police sources, a 8th class girl student was coming back from school, when four youth identified as Kiran Chand of Udhampur, Ashwami Kumar of Saran, Varinder Singh of Nomian and Parkash Chand of Nelia abducted her and took her to secluded place, where they took turns to rape.
After committing the offence, the youth fled from the spot leaving behind the victim in unconscious state.
The victim after regaining the consciousness informed the matter to the family members, who lodged a complaint against the accused at Katra police station.
After registering a case under FIR number 45/14 under Section 376, 366 and 109 RPC police started manhunt to arrest the accused.
The girl was handed over to legal heirs after conducting medical examination.
However, the accused were at large, when last reports compiled.
