Classic short stories read out, interaction held

JAMMU, Nov 13:  On 2nd day of 6-day Kahani Workshop jointly organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi, Prof Lalit Magotra, eminent Dogri short story writer, scholar and poet and Neeru Sharma, prominent Hindi and Dogri short story writer presented their short stories and also interacted with the participants.
Prof Lalit Magotra presented his two short stories in Dogri titled ‘Hello Maya’ and ‘Prem Kahani’ and an interaction was also held on the craft, style and techniques of developing a short story. Some of the short stories written by the participants on the theme were also presented.
After the morning session Neeru Sharma presented her Dogri short story ‘Mein Ikley Ni Jana’ and also some selective short stories written by young writers of slum area. In both the sessions during the interaction the creative process of the short story was discussed and the short stories created by the participants were also read out and discussed. Prof Lalit Mangotra, who is also director of the Kahani Workshop read out one Hindi kahani ‘Gul ki Banno’ written by the established Hindi short story writer Dharam Vir Bharti.
During the second session some stories read out by the participants as per the theme allotted were also appreciated by the experts of the day. During the discussion and interaction the social evils, class struggle and women related issues were also discussed.
