Realising the importance of a clean environment around , the Prime Minister has given a call for “Bharat Swasha Abhiyaan”. It looks on the face, just an ordinary issue but if we think seriously upon it , we shall understand its importance. Our country is not having a satisfactory international rating in cleanliness and our lanes, drains, streets, roads depict a sad state of affairs. We have no proper arrangement for disposal of kitchen waste and other garbage. It is sad that our city Jammu is one of those cities where garbage is littered in lanes and streets and where cleanliness is not up to the mark. It is heartening to note that the call has been taken seriously by our younger generations as our Jammu university students and faculty, other prominent schools and some offices etc have launched “Swassishta ” campaign etc . Swasch Bharat Sunder Bharat should motivate not only students but each and every citizen. Bapu was himself doing the cleansing job in and around his place of stay, that should be an inspiration to us.
