RAMNAGAR, Oct 29: While interacting with a group of protesting delegation of daily rated, casual and CP workers of PHE Department at Ramnagar, MLA Ranbir Singh Pathania expressed fullest solidarity with their genuine demands and called upon the Governor to take immediate cognizance of their genuine demands related to release of their pending wages.
Pathania emphasized that the law prescribes a penalty for with holding the wages of ‘workman’ but it is a very sad state of affair that those who are themselves the custodians of law are impugning the law with full impunity and indifference. He said daily wagers of the department are without pay for the past about 52 months, ITI workers are without pay for the last 10 months and casual workers are paid once in a year.
Pathania said that payment of timely wages has been upheld as the fundamental right in various Judgements of Supreme Court but the state itself is violating this fundamental right of the casual employees who are holding high the flag of the department and providing drinking water to the public.
Further deliberating open the issue Pathania requested the Governor administration to embark upon a  system where timely distribution of wages to these daily rated workers and casual workers is ensured.
In view of the ensuing Festivities, Pathania said that the families of these workers are looking upon the office of the Governor with a hope otherwise their festivals are going to be `sweet less’ and `cracker-less’.
Pathania further assured the protesting workers that he will personally raise the issue of their wages with  the higher authorities including Governor so that they are able to get their pending dues.
