JAMMU, Aug 2: All India Confederation of SC, ST, OBC Organizations has demanded the Government to clear backlog in employment.
The demand was raised by chief guest R K Kalsotra (State president of the Confederation) during Rights Conference held today at Miran Sahib (Jammu). The conference was organized by Skinder Bhagat and Ramesh Bitti and a large number of locals along with Panchs, Sarpanchs, youth and social as well as political workers participated in it.
Kalsotra who was accompanied with Shashi Syal (State coordinator, Confederation and general secretary, Majdoor Dastkar Union, J&K) said that the educated youth are not getting employment, employees are not getting promotions since long and students are not getting timely scholarship despite Government’s claims about giving all facilities to SC, ST and OBCs.
He said that it is the policy of the Government to slowly dilute the rights of SC, ST, OBC which were enshrined in the constitution. “Thousands of posts in Government departments are unfilled, reservation in promotions has been stopped, Mandal Commission Report has not been fully implemented while caste atrocities are on rise,” he added.
Kalsotra appealed all stakeholders to come with the Confederation to fight and get back their rights.
Shashi Syal, guest of honour of the function said that Confederation’s next agenda is to organize similar conferences all over the UT for which he appealed to the masses to join hands with Confederation.
