Clerical Association accuses Govt of betrayal

JAMMU, Dec 29: A joint meeting of the representatives of J&K Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association was held here today under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik. State vice president of the Association Khurshid Ahmed Dewani, Madan Sangral, Bharat Bushan, Meenakshi Sharma, Raj Mohammed, Munsih Sharma, Sewa Ram, Uday Singh Pathania, Pawan Kumar, Vikas Sharma, Javed Ahmed Akhoon, Sanjay Dhar, Yash Pal, Anil Kesar, Romesh Koul, Ajay Khajuria, Ashok Kumar, Jaswant Singh, Chaman Lal and Sham Lal also attended the meeting.
The meeting criticized the Government for backtracking from the commitment made with the employees during the meetings on March 10, 2008, February 19,2009, May 14 , 2010 and September 15 last year in which it was promised to fulfill all the pending demands of the employees including removal of pay anomalies of clerical cadre but nothing has been done in this regard till date.
This amounts to betrayal on the part of the Government, the meeting said, adding the promises made by the Government proved totally hollow.
The Association also criticised the Government for giving step motherly treatment to clerical cadre both salary as well as promotion wise . It added most of the junior assistants have retired on the same post and nothing was done to remove the pay anomalies till date.
The meeting urged the Government to solve these problems without further delay. It stressed on reorganization of clerical cadre, regularisation of daily wagers, enhancement of retirement age and increase of Medical Allowance.
