Clerical cadre of all deptts observes complete strike

JAMMU, Apr 26:  The Jammu Kashmir Ladakh All Department Clerical Staff Coordination Committee (Jammu province) today observed  complete strike on the 4th consecutive day today and held strong protest demonstration near Press Club, Jammu.
A large number of employees of all the factions, under the  banner of ‘Coordination Committee’ assembled at Exhibition Ground near Press Club here today  and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demands. They also raised slogans against the Government for ignoring their issues despite recommendations of the Cabinet Sub Committee  and High Court directives. They demanded that pay anomalies of the clerical cadre be removed. They also rejected the 7th Pay Commission and said that Government has back tracked  and not fulfilled its commitment.
The protest  demonstration was also held at various district headquarters.  Tomorrow the clerical cadre has planned  ‘Secretariat  Gherao’ programme and protest march in Jammu city from Press Club of Jammu. With the strike of the clerical cadre the normal work in many Government offices and  PSUs has been affected.
The cadre leadership  has appealed the clerical colleagues across the state to paralyse the work of State Government while observing the strike programme. Further, all departmental presidents of Jammu district with their colleagues in good strength are requested to follow the programme and assemble in Jammu for taking out grand rally to secretariat. They have been requested to attend the Secretariat Gherao  programme on Friday as the march will start at 10.30 am from  Press Club, Jammu to Civil Secretariat.
Prominent among those who addressed the gathering included at Press Club today included Babu Hussain Malik, Ravi Singh Bhau, Bharat Bhushan,  Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Anil Mehta, Sukhbir Singh, Gurmeet Singh, Ashok Singh, Yash Paul Sharma, B B Kotwal, Meenakshi Sharma, Ravi Kumar, Mohd Saleem, Mohd Latief, Onkar Verma, Arun Sharma, Sewa Ram Rathore, Farida Bano, Umar Jan, Kuldip Kotwal, Darshan Angurana, Ansuya Gupta, Gurjeet Singh and others.
