Clerical cadre employees stage protest demonstration

JAMMU, Apr 25: Clerical cadre employees on the third consecutive day today struck work and held protest demonstration at Rail Head Complex Jammu and also other district headquarters of the region in support of their demand of removal of pay anomalies.
A large number of clerical cadre employees from various departments and Public Sector Undertakings assembled outside Commercial Taxes Department building at Rail Head Complex in the morning at around 11.30 am and started protest demonstration. They were shouting slogans in support of their demand of removing anomalies in the pay grades,
They further pointed out that despite recommendations of the State level committee and directives of the J&K High Court, the State Government did not bother to remove the anomalies committed in the clerical cadre. They demanded that it should have been removed before the implementation of 7th Pay Commission report. The members appealed the clerical cadre staff not to draw their new salaries without removal of pay anomalies. They also condemned the arrest of clerical cadre employees during Secretariat gherao march at Jammu on Tuesday.
Similar protests were held at various district headquarters including Kathua, Samba, Reasi, Udhampur etc in Jammu region. The cadre has sought intervention of Chief Minister into the matter.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included Nazir Ahmed Bhat, Harvinder Singh, Kirpal Singh, Ranbir Singh, Umar Jan, Tilak Raj, Surinder Kumar, Rajesh Koul and Vikas sadhotra.
