JAMMU, June 4: The Jammu and Kashmir Clerical Employees Association (JAMMU) today resolved to observe one day strike on June 6 (Monday ), as the J&K UT authorities have failed to address their pending issues.
In a meeting of the Association held in the office of Federation, DHS Complex, Jammu today ( Saturday) under the chairmanship of Mohd Saleem, president JKCEA, the members discussed the long pending demands of Health employees of this cadre. They demanded conduct of Departmental Promotion Committee (promotions) meet of all categories in the Health department, which is pending for the last 4 years. The DPC is supposed to be held twice a year, but its is unfortunate that it was not held for the last four years despite submitting several representations to the higher authorities. Many Health employees have been retired without getting the benefits of promotion. Services Subordinate Recruitment Rules SRO-20 file was lying pending in the office of Secretary, General Administrative Department, Jammu for the last four months for final approval.
JKCEA chief said that GAD failed to frame rules of promotion. The employees have been forced to adopt agitational path. Therefore it was resolved in the meeting to hold ‘Kam Chhorh Hartal’ / strike on June 6, 2022 (Monday).
They alleged that UT Govt also failed to resolve the salary problems of Female Multi-Purpose Health Workers and other staff getting salaries under Head -2211 Family Welfare. The wages of FMPHWs have been pending for the last five months. They also demanded regularisation of all the left over Govt Pharmacists. After the abrogation of Article 370, most of the Pharmacists are not getting registered by JK Pharmacy Council. All the leftover Govt Pharmacists should be registered in the office of the Controller of Drug & Food Organization (JK Pharmacy Council). They further demanded restoration of old pension scheme for all UT employees.
JKCEAJ appealed all Health employees to participate in Kaam Chhorh Hartal and suspend work in all the Health institutions of Jammu division in Monday. It was, however, decided to exempt emergency services from the preview of strike.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included- Deepak Sharma, Surinder Bakshi, Tilak Raj, Yash Bir Singh, Yash Dev Singh, Surdeep Singh, Ashok Saini and Ram Chand.
