Clerical Staff Association discusses demands

JAMMU, July 19: Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association in a meeting here today held under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik demanded up-gradation of clerical cadre which was deprived of this benefit in Fifth Pay Commission when the pay scales of Patwaries, teachers, medical assistants, stock assistants junior wool shepherds etc were upgraded but clerical cadre was ignored.
It said besides the Government has changed the basic qualification and service rules of clerical cadre from time to time but the grade of junior assistant is still 3045-4900 in spite of higher education and technical qualifications and hard working conditions.
The meeting demanded 4000-6000 grade for junior assistants, 4500-7000 for senior assistants/steno typists/JSA, 5500-9000 for HA/junior stenographers /Sts assistants.
It further demanded re-organization of clerical cadre and merger of the posts of JAs and senior assistants.
Javed Ahmed Akhoon, Bharat Bushan, Khurshid Ahmed Dewani, Sanjay Dhar, Meenakshi Sharma and others attended the meeting.
