JAMMU, May 16: The Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association has resolved to hold pen down strike in support of their demands on May 19.
The representatives of Clerical Staff Association from various departments led by Ravi Singh Bhau- president and assisted by Sukhbir Singh- general secretary, Ravi Kumar, Yash Pal, Brijesh Mehta, Kirpal Singh, Rajinder Singh, Rohit George, Parkash Singh, JR Sagar, Avtar Krishan, Sunil Nehru, Vikas Gupta and others visited various office complexes including Deputy Commissioner’s office, Municipal Corporation, Irrigation & Flood Control and Director School Education, Jammu and held meetings with the employees.
While addressing the clerical cadre Ravi Singh Bhau condemned the anti- employee policies of the State Government. He pointed out that agreement dated 15/09/2011 carried out between the representatives of Association and the State Government authorities, the State Government vide Govt. Order No. 76-GAD of 2012 dated 16.11.2012 constituted the Pay Anomaly Committee. This Committee submitted its report regarding the pay anomalies of Clerical Cadre, Home Department and Revenue Department. The State Government accepted and implemented recommendations in favour of Revenue and Home Departments, ignoring the Clerical cadre. Now again, the State Government vide Govt. Order No. 420-GAD of 2016 dated 21.01.2016 constituted another Pay Anomaly Committee which is just another attempt to befool the Clerical cadre. The State Government is hoodwinking the clerical cadre by giving false assurances and compelling the Clerical Cadre to come on the roads once again.
The participants appealed the Chief Minister to intervene in the matter so that the pay anomalies of the cadre (of 5th Pay Commission) be removed while granting the pay scale of Rs 4000-6000 to Junior Assistant, Rs 4500-7000 to Senior Assistant and Rs 5500-9000 to Head Assistant etc notionally w.e.f. 01-01-1996. The association appealed to the clerical cadre to remain vigilant from the elements who are involved in the anti clerical cadre activities. They appealed the Clerical cadre to observe one day strike on May 19.
