Clerks demand removal of pay anomalies, DA

JAMMU, Nov 12: Clerical staff of all the Departments and Public Sector Undertakings have demanded removal of pay anomalies, increasing of Medical allowance  and release of DA without any more delay.
In a meeting of  the Jammu, Kashmir & Ladakh All Departments Clerical Staff Association held under the chairmanship of Babu Hussain Malik here the other day, the speakers condemned the Omar led Government for ignoring the genuine and justified demands of the employees. They said that even after agreeing these demands during meeting of the employees leaders with the Government representatives, the demands remained unresolved.
It is unfortunate that the Cabinet Sub Committee had framed a committee for the purpose of removing disparity in wages but the committee after thorough exercise, also submitted a report but the Government failed to take any decision and provide relief to the aggrieved clerical cadre employees. They condemned the Government for deliberately betraying and ignoring the issue.
The speakers demanded that pay grades of junior and senior assistants and head assistants be hiked,  and 10 % and 7 % DA installments be released and medical allowance be enhanced from Rs 300 to Rs 1000 per month in favour of employees and pensioners. They demanded that designation of Head Assistant  be changed as Section Officer.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included K A Dewani, Bharat Bhushan, Sewa Ram Rathore, Jaswant Singh,  Mohd Iqbal and Javed Ahmed Akhoon.
