JAMMU, Apr 5: Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu, organised a webinar on `Communication Skills and Personality Development in the Global Business Context’.
The objective of the lecture was to build self confidence, enhance self esteem and improve overall personality of the students as they were made aware of the importance of soft skills required for a corporate structure. About 100 students and teaching faculty from constituent Colleges and PGI Schools of CLUJ participated in the event.
Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu inaugurated the event and exhorted that developing personality is key to success and dwelt on the concept of grooming one’s self to bring about positive changes.
Pallvi Arora, Assistant Professor, Centre for Cross Cultural Research and Human Resource Management, University of Jammu, was the Resource Person at the event. She stressed that effective communication skills play a crucial role in honing one’s personality. She elaborated on various parameters like Basic Introduction, Body language, positive attitude, interactive skills and confidence and guided students on improving communication skills, widening ones scope of knowledge, learning etiquettes and manners etc.
Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare CLUJ, stressed that effective communication and healthy personality are important life skills that enable students to connect with people around them, thereby showing them pathways to a promising future. The programme was coordinated by Dr Banpreet Kour, who also gave a formal vote of thanks.
