Cluster University of Jammu celebrates Foundation Day

JAMMU, Mar 1: Cluster University of Jammu celebrated its Foundation Day in a virtual mode with a Roundtable on the topic “Heralding towards a Promising Future: Together We Succeed”.
Prof Bechan Lal, Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu, presided over the ceremony. Prof Anju Bhasin, Founding Vice Chancellor CLUJ and Prof Manoj Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, who was acting VC of CLUJ before taking over by Prof Bechan Lal, were the guests of honor. Prof Poonam Dhawan, former Dean Academic Affairs, CLUJ and Dr Satinder Singh, former Principal Lead College, GGM Science College, were the special invitees for the Roundtable.
Prof Bechan Lal, in his presidential address, promised leaving no stone unturned in making CLUJ globally recognized by creating rich and ample opportunities and providing Research oriented education for the young learners. He also E-Inaugurated the CLUJ Alumni Society.
Prof Anju Bhasin stressed on the need to recruit permanent faculty and also acquire campus land for a lead towards a future continuous academic success thereby achieving vision of CLUJ i.e “Reaching Up and Reaching Out”.
Prof Manoj Dhar forecasted great future in this upcoming university with dedicated and committed faculty under the leadership of Prof Bechan Lal.
Prof Poonam Dhawan asserted that Cluster University was different from other Universities as it comprised of five premier colleges of the city which have a lot of potential and human resource that can be capitalized to achieve excellence both in academics and other fields.
Dr Satinder Singh euologised the relentless contribution of the faculty of all constituent colleges in the initiation of university ranging from framing curriculum to examination and evaluation.
Dr Twinkle Suri, Dean Students Welfare, threw light on CLUJ journey which started four years ago.
Earlier, the function started with a motivational group song by students of Music Department, Govt MAM College, which was followed by screening of a pictorial documentary highlighting the various key moments and achievements of the University.
Prof Bhopinder Singh, Dean Academic Affairs; Dr Jatinder Khajuria, Registrar; Dr Mushtaq Ahmed Lone, Controller Examinations; Deans of faculties, Principals of Constituent Colleges, Coordinators, former Principals, faculty and students from Colleges and PGI schools participated in the event.
