SRINAGAR, Sept 29: Scores of students from the first semester of Cluster University protested today demanding that their exams be held online.
The students assembled at the Press Enclave here and raised slogans in favour of their demands. They questioned why, despite the Covid scare, Cluster University is forcing students to take exams offline when universities across the country are holding exams online.

They asserted the University is insisting on holding offline exams despite the fact that their entire syllabus was taught online. “Whatever we studied, we studied online. Why are they taking this step if all of our classes were held online with sporadic internet access?” Majid Gulzar Mir, a first-semester student, said.
Another student said that the online classes had been going on since May, and that “why are they forcing us to take offline exams when science subjects like chemistry and physics, which are nearly impossible to teach online because practicals are required, were taught online?”
The students requested that the university’s Vice-Chancellor reconsider the decision in their favour. They, however, threatened to escalate protests if their demands are not met.
