CM frames committees to resolve dual administration issue

SRINAGAR:
Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed today framed committees to sort out the issue of dual administrative control of many areas of governance following creation of new districts in the state in 2007.
“People have to suffer a lot due to this dual control and I wish to see this issue sorted out at the earliest,” the Chief Minister said while chairing the District Development Board (DDB) meetings of Ganderbal and Bandipora.
The meeting took place at Ganderbal today.
Sayeed constituted two committees, headed by respective Divisional Commissioners, which would examine and submit detailed recommendations for permanently resolving the contentious issue, an official spokesman said.
He said after creation of eight new districts, lot of areas continue to remain in the administrative control of erstwhile districts in vital sectors like Public Health Engineering, Health, Roads, Buildings and Police.
Reiterating his commitment to provide justice to all by inculcating transparency and good governance in public delivery system, Sayeed said the Government would work to see that the aspirations and expectations of people in the state were fulfilled.
Referring to the creation of NITI Ayog at the Centre, the Chief Minister said the new system of financing as per award of 14th Finance Commission has assured the State of its due share of Central funds. (AGENCIES)
