JAMMU, Aug 23: Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today held high level review of security situation in Jammu region during a meeting with police officers.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh was also present in the meeting.
Official sources said after the security review, both the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister left for Srinagar, where Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh is reaching tomorrow morning on a two-day visit.
In the meeting, IGP Jammu Danesh Rana gave detailed perception of the situation prevailing in Jammu region including the Intelligence inputs.
Sources said the Chief Minister, who also holds charge of the Home Department, expressed satisfaction over situation prevailing in Jammu region, which remained peaceful despite 46-day long Kashmir unrest and provocations from certain quarters to create trouble.
Mehbooba hoped that the people of Jammu region would maintain peace and harmony.
